My personal experience on Driving License renewal

 Dear Readers

I hope you all are doing good. Let me share my recent experience with RTO on license renewal. It is partially a complement and a complaint.

A few years back, I think entire processing moved to online mode that includes form submission, proof submission, photo, etc.

Let us get into the story now. It all started with a Driving School near Medavakkam. As I did not want to go through typical government office processing I chose to go with a driving school. On the phone they said the fee for the license renewal is 2000 after I gave the complete details.

Once I reached there, a madam sitting in the front office told me that actual charge is 4000. I was not ok to pay such a huge amount and as usual, I spoke to a few of my friends who were supposed to have finished the processing recently. They said it won't even go up to 1000 rupees.

As all of them told me, I first needed to get the license available online. The driving school where I took the license 15 years back charged 500 to bring it online and they took 2 weeks for it.

One another information I revealed is normal courier service should not be used for original documents. I opted for a registered post, but it seems to be unavailable anymore. Only speed post service is being supported by the postal department. To bring the license online, there is no fee mentioned in the government portal still the driving school charged 500 and I think it includes the bribe.

After that I applied online for the renewal, got the appointment and went to the RTO office directly. To my surprise, they treated all the applicants with good respect. we were asked to sit in the bench instead of standing in the queue. Enough ventilation with Fans, drinking water, regular updates and quick processing.

Within 40 mins, entire processing completed with photograph taken for the new license. Most importantly, there was not even a talk about bribe. After 2 days, I got it delivered to my home.

We are almost close to the corruption free, honest and fully online country. I was told this new online processing is in place from 2020. The first step is still online which is doing the backlog for the non-online licenses. It has to be taken care soon.

    Thank you for reading.

What makes Life 100 percent

In our life, there are many qualities we have such as patience, talent, knowledge, etc. Though we have all these, do you know which one makes your life 100 percent. Let’s find it using a mathematical calculation. Firstly, Knowledge –   Sum up the place value of each character.                                         –       11 + 14 + 15 + 23 + 12 + 5 + 4 + 7 + 5 = 96 Then, Health – 8 + 5 + 1 + 12 + 20 + 8 = 54 Money – 13 + 15 + 14 + 5 + 25 = 72. Peace – 16 + 5 + 1 + 3 + 4 = 24 Oh, No. none of these 100%. All of our favorite things have gone. What else does it. Let’s try a new one, Attitude – 1 + 20 + 20 + 9 + 20 + 21 + 4 + 5 = 100, wow. Finally, we got it. It is our Attitude make the life 100%. Always have a positive, healthy, and good attitude. That’s more than enough. Our Thiruvalluvar has said the same in the below one...
