Dear Readers
Hope you all are doing well!
Let's talk about Dr.Murali, Gastroenterologist, Tanjore today. In my view, he is a service minded, people-centric and highly talented Doctor I have ever met.
Our experience with Dr started in the year 2015 when my father had some digestive problems. One of my uncles had been taking treatment from him for a very long time. You can understand his noble intentions just by looking at the consultation fee he is charging. It is just 50 Rs in 2015. To be frank, Others of his specialty were charging more than 200 at the same time .
I asked him directly once about this low fee and he told me that many under-privileged patients from neighboring districts were travelling more than 2 hours to consult with him. Having their financial status in mind, he decided to charge the lowest consultation fee possible. I myself saw 100's of patients waiting every day in the waiting hall.
There is a rack of books that can be utilized during the waiting time. A few people don't have the patience to wait so they may criticize him for the long waiting hours. It is primarily because of his intention to take sufficient time to diagnose each patient thoroughly before deciding the course of treatment.
One of our relatives had a serious backache and she was taking treatment from leading hospitals in Chennai. None of them could not resolve it, so she finally took the treatment from an Ayurvedha hospital and returned to her native.
Though the quality of Ayurvedha treatment was good enough, she started suffering from backache again and they consulted Dr Murali as some of their relatives referred him. Every other doctor failed to identify the actual problem except Dr Murali. He was the only one who said she was suffering from severe life threating disease and backache was just a symptom.
Since it was too late to treat, she could not survive even for 2 months after Murali sir discovered the actual problem. Coming back to our story, he identified the reason for my dad's indigestion using colonoscopy method and told us that it was because of polyps in the intestine. He also said he could not tell us the actual depth of the problem due to the limitation in his infrastructure.
He then referred us to one another great hospital in Chennai, and he said that doctor is a leading gastroenterologist in India. Moreover, he runs a trust name Arpanam in addition to this noble medical service.
We actually consulted Dr Murali multiple times during this whole period, and I did not elaborate each visit in detail here.
Thanks for reading! Stay Healthy! Jai Hind!
